The TV3 television network began to work in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 1998. Today, the channel broadcasts in 536 Russia’s cities and towns. TV3 owns 33 stations, and the cumulative reach amounted to 88 % of Russia in 2008 for an audience between 18 and 54 years of age.

From the beginning of 2008, the concept of TV3 has been focusing on sci-fi, mysticism, and adventures ("real mystical"), whereas the channel consolidates the best programs of the above genres. The daily average audience of the channel was 3.5 % in 2008.
