ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation (VKPM) was founded in 2003 in order to improve efficiency of the ProfMedia -owned radio business asset management.
Now VKPM runs four radio stations (Autoradio, Energy, Humor FM, and Radio Alla), develops Internet broadcasting on the basis of the 101.ru website, and builds its branch network in Russia’s largest cities.
Autoradio - the leading radio station of the corporation – was established in 1993. Today, Autoradio is the indisputable leader of the Moscow radio market. The Autoradio’s regional network is among the three largest ones, covering more than 300 cities of Russia. It also broadcasts in Moldova, Ukraine, Mongolia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Israel.
Autoradio is far ahead of other Russian radio stations with the car-driver audience, fully justifying its handle as the First Automobile Radio.
Autoradio runs Russia’s best morning show, Murzilki International. Autoradio is the multiple winner of the Radio Mania contest. It is also the source of reliable and up-to-the-minute information about traffic jams provided by the Commonwealth of People’s Correspondents, which is the unique phenomenon in the world radio industry There are on-going games, prize drawings, and exciting mass functions, such as the 1980s Disco International Festival, which brings together tens of thousands of fans in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other cities annually.
Humor FM the only comedy radio station in Russia, is a unique niche project with the format based on the good-quality humor.
The radio station makes a great number of independent humor programs and broadcasts, and successfully cooperates with recognized stars of humor, movie industry, TV, and show business.
With the early stages of broadcasting dating back to 2003, Humor FM has shown record growth rates and today confidently ranks among the top ten Moscow radio stations. The Humor FM regional network (currently, more than 50 cities in Russia, Ukraine, Kirghizia, Latvia, and Trans-Dniester region) is successfully developing, and in some cities the radio station holds the first place in absolute ratings.
Radio Energy (NRJ) is a joint project between ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation the French NRJ Group, one of the most authoritative brands in the international radio industry broadcasting to France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Lebanon, and Ukraine. The radio stations operating under the NRJ brand have a steady image of fashionable, progressive, and popular stations and trendsetters in the musical world.
In 2008, the Russian radio station Energy was recognized the best one in musical programming among the NRJ brand national broadcasters, and a host of the morning show "Black2White" Nigerian Simon won the Radio Mania 2008 award.
Radio Energy invariably offers an effervescent and exciting show drawing in an increasing number of fans. Energy is all about the most fashionable trends in the world musical culture for an active audience between 18 and 30 years of age, which reflect the slogan of the radio station: Hit Music Only.
Radio Alla is the most recent project by ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation: the station went on air in July 2007. The creative component of the radio station is inseparably linked with its talented and charismatic art director, Alla Borisovna Pugacheva.
Radio Alla broadcasts the best Russian and foreign songs, which date back to the Soviet times as well as the modern ones. Radio Alla is also a kind of a creative workshop and star club, where the Russian Prima Donna receives her friends letting the radio listeners learn amusing stories from their life.
Radio Alla is a musical radio station focused on female audience, but it is nonetheless popular with men.
ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation has a great number of awards. The VKPM has won tens of various awards, prizes, diplomas, and certificates, and their number increases year in, and year out. The successes of the corporation in the area of broadcasting are highly appreciated both in Russia and abroad. Today, the ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation owns over 20 Golden Microphone awards, Radio mania prizes, and the National Award in the area of broadcasting. Over the years, the VKPM radio stations have won the Brand of the Year / Effie award on three occasions and the Ovation national musical award twice. On numerous occasions, they have become laureates of many other important awards and contests. The VKPM is the only Russian media company to receive the international NAB (US National Association of Broadcasters) award, which is the International Broadcasting Excellence Award.
Priority areas of the VKPM development strategy for the near future include active regional expansion and advancement of own brands on the international media market. Monthly expansion of the broadcast area, regular launches of unique radio projects and effective partnership with the leading Russian and foreign industry associations form the foundation for confident leadership of the corporation in the broadcasting area. Today, the ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation successfully operates through its own branches in seven Russian cities, such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Perm, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, and Ekaterinburg.
