Publishing

ProfMedia began its development from the publishing business, when it took a controlling stake in Komsomolskaya Pravda in 1997. The Holding’s newspaper asset portfolio gradually expanded and in 2005 Komsomolskaya Pravda, Sovietsky Sport and Express newspapers were brought together in Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House – the biggest newspaper company in Russia by sales. ProfMedia sold the Publishing House in 2007 as part of a repositioning of the Holding.

At the beginning of 2006 ProfMedia acquired Publishing House Afisha, the leader on the recreation and entertainment information market. PH Afisha publishes the following magazines: Afisha. All Entertainment in Moscow, Afisha. All Entertainment in St. Petersburg, Afisha. All entertainments of the universe, Afisha-Mir, Afisha-Eda, the Bolshoy Gorod (Big City) magazine, Afisha guidebooks, and it also owns the following web portals: Afisha.ru, BG.ru and Afisha-Mir.ru.
