Alexander Varin Gets Re-Elected as President of the Russian Radio Academy

The academicians used the meeting of the Russian Radio Academy (RRA) held on December 10, 2008 to unanimously re-elect Alexander Varin, who has held this position since 2007, to the office of President of the Academy.

The RRA was established last December with the support of the National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters (NAB) and Eduard Sagalayev's personal participation, with a view to increase the authority of the broadcasting industry, uphold interests of radio broadcasters at all levels, form a consolidated position on issues concerning the entire radio community, share experience and encourage outstanding professional achievements.

Today the Russian Radio Academy is the main industry’s institute. The RRA academicians include representatives of Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media, NAB, top managers from the All-Russian State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, the European Media Group, ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation, Russian Media Group, Gazprom Media, Voice of Russia radio company, Radio Center concern, radio stations such as Silver Rain, Echo of Moscow, and Chanson, heads of the leading regional radio companies.
