Thanks to these acquisitions, Central Partnership has expanded its library of modern Russian cinema, which is now the largest in Russia.
“The creation of large libraries of Russian films and television series will help strengthen the position of the domestic product both on broadcast television and on subscription networks,” said Ruben Dishdishyan, Central Partnership General Director, commenting on the deal. “In the last two years, we have seen television holdings and subscription networks grow, and with the switch to digital this process will accelerate. We are already seeing the main players’ desire to work with the large copyright holders. Our task is to create a library of domestic products that could compete with packages from western companies, both in terms of total number of hours and of diversity of genres.”
